Call me out for being a week behind but this sort of news is slow to reach Minarchadia, you see our news stories are mostly things relevant to life and community not figureheads, reporters here don’t hang on demagoguery and regurgitate it to tribal masses. So when this Prayer Day spiel from the president of the border people trickled in it happened to be on the same day they call “President’s Day”, a day where they revere former leaders who threatened mass violence on people or destroyed half their nation in order to “save” the whole.

It is rather boring but this fellow caught a lot of slack for bringing up different eras of history and how religions were used, err abused, in tandem with negative acts.

Here in Minarchadia we have people who follow all sorts of theology, well all theologies but one. Statism. With that in mind I decided to change up this fellows speach. Here I substitute terms of the Statist religion in caps for the religious events he used. I think you will find the substitutions to be both accurate and revealing.

And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the CIVIL WAR and the TRAIL OF TEARS, people committed terrible deeds in the name of GOVERNMENT. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of STATUTORY LAWS. … So this is not unique to one ISM or one PARTY. There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency that can pervert and distort our POWER.

If you care to bother with all that man actually said you can find it below or at this link.

And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ. Michelle and I returned from India — an incredible, beautiful country, full of magnificent diversity — but a place where, in past years, religious faiths of all types have, on occasion, been targeted by other peoples of faith, simply due to their heritage and their beliefs — acts of intolerance that would have shocked Gandhiji, the person who helped to liberate that nation.

So this is not unique to one group or one religion. There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency that can pervert and distort our faith.

You can even watch his fellow Statist deride this president guy while her background waves with their common and most revered symbol. Religious infighting is never good is it?
